MARS VR Labs Rebrand

MARS VR Labs creates virtual reality experiences to provide a safe and fun environment for rehabilitation and therapy. Virtual Reality allows MARS VR Labs to create engaging worlds to safely experiment and explore, while they track progress even more precisely than in real world. Freedom and fun build confidence along with skill. The target audiences are hospitals, health boards, and not-for-profit charitable foundations of hospitals. We were tasked with developing the brand, including strategy, visual system and website.

Process

The design process began with an overall brand audit and competitive landscape analysis to establish the brand position. The areas of focus were disability, rehabilitation, VR/AR and gamification. The new brand positioning reflects the competitive advantage of being in between educational and entertaining. This positioning reflects the gaps in the competitive landscape we’ve discovered.

Unlock Potential Through Play

For those with developmental disabilities (and those that care for them), who seek relief from the difficulties associated with rehabilitation, MARS VR Lab provides a safe virtual learning environment that uses gamification to accelerate and improve education throughout the rehabilitation process.

Outcome

With the new brand launch, MARS VR Labs was able to receive funding from the Government of Canada through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency. This funding has allowed them to hire staff to advance product and software development and company growth.

My role in this project was very new to me as I was the sole identity designer as well as the UX designer. I believe the overall look and feel is cohesive through out all the applications and assets we created. I’m looking forward to creating more marketing materials as this company develops.
