Founded in Vancouver in 2010, Palmer is a respected team of geoscience, engineering and environmental professionals who provide strategic advice and technical support to Indigenous groups, government agencies, municipalities, land developers and resource industry clients across Canada.
The existing site was overwhelmed by a growing archive of over 50 case studies, with no clear structure or system for categorization. Without defined categories or consistent formatting, users struggled to navigate or absorb the depth of work showcased. The experience felt cluttered, and it was nearly impossible for visitors to filter or explore projects by sector or service, diminishing the impact of the case studies.
We began with a comprehensive site analysis to identify points of friction that were clouding the case study experience. By evaluating user behavior and mapping out the priorities and goals of different audience types, we were able to clarify what mattered most. From there, we established clear, consistent labeling and implemented a filtering system that allowed users to navigate by sector and service with ease. This not only improved discoverability but also brought cohesion to the case study archive—making each page more structured, accessible, and aligned with the user’s intent.
The reconstruction of the site brought clarity, consistency, and a more user-focused experience. With structured layouts, consistent labeling, and intuitive filters, users could now easily find relevant projects and understand the value behind each one.
Shortly after, Palmer Environmental Consulting Group was acquired by SLR Consulting (Canada) Ltd.—a significant milestone that brought together two industry leaders to strengthen SLR’s environmental consulting capabilities across Canada.
